Hey,
Spotted this car yesterday, went for a look all seemed fine. It appeared to be the SE version, 231BHP. It had a 6 speed manual, 10K on the rev counter. However, on closely relooking at the above link it appears that there are no headlamp washers (I stupidly forgot to confirm this when looking at it Embarassed)
Is there any trim with 6 speed and 10K revs but w/o the headlamp washers, or should I assume this has been crashed/repaired and just walk away?

cheers

As far as I'm aware, headlamp washers are standard on 231's, theres a possibility that a 192 bumper has been swapped in for some reason or another. Either way, its a 231 if it has 6 gears and a 9k rev limiter.

If its been properly repaired following a crash then there should be nothing to worry about, that said, looks to me like they skimped on the bumper. Personally, that would put me off but each to their own.

EDIT: Is this a Jap car by any chance? Most of the Jap imports I've seen have the rear windows tinted, this may be the reason why it doesn't have headlamp washers.

Thanks for that CJ. You may be correct as it is imported and windows are tinted so could be a Jap version.
I rang Joe Duffy who is checking out the chassis number to see what its origins were.
Even if it was Jap and the bumper was not a repair job, i'm thinking that it is putting me off as from the outside it looks like the 192 now.. ..

Hmmm, JDM version appears to be limited to 180kph Crying or Very sad

If spending 16K on a sports car I dont want it to be limited a speed that my current Corolla can do!

buy a apexi rev\speed controller. that will de limit it

jap 231s dont come with washers for the lights....seriously there not needed in any way. and if you wouldnt buy one for this reason i think its a little silly.

Cheers for the confirmation. No it wasnt specifically the washers, the lack of them just arose suspicion originally.
It was a combination of things really. Just seemed a lower spec with having to modify it to remove speed restriction, w/o the Xenon lights, washers, heated seats and service history in Japanese. No one of these things in particular really....

Hi,

Mine is a Jap import and doesn't have the headlight washers or rear foglight. It was limited to 180km/h but I got an AccessPort and no speed limiter at all now.

The Euro versions got the headlight washers, rear fog light, boot lip spoiler, leather seats 231bhp etc. The JDM models have the Alcantara seats, no boot spoiler, 250bhp, more torque and sports suspension.

It's just different stuff for different markets Smile
