i was driving from dublin towards wexford tonight n she started making some really weird noise like metal scraping metal wen i was accelarating. So i stopped n wen shes ticking over she sounds like a feck* tractor n sounded like she wanted to cut out, the rpm was lower than normal (800) n the oil cap has white residue on it.... She was definitely louder n vibrating more than usual as well. She seemed like she was lacking power a little earlier today, any ideas lads??? i'm kinda freakin out!

thanks
Adam

This doesn't sound good. Did it come out of nowhere, where you booting it when it happened? Is the car starting from hot and cold?

that doesnt sound good at all. by what your saying sounds alot like a broken tip!

id check you air flow meter, its located to the right of the intake manifold on the passanger side on the firewall. see if any vacum lines have poped off. if that does pop off it will give the same simptons as a blown motor.

the clutch release bearing has sh!t itself, dont know if it has pulled thru the clutch, price of a standard new one is ridiculous, so if anyone knows of one or a price on a good second hand one
